I just purchased this laptop. I get a reading of 997mHz in System Information and as the maximum speed in msinfo32 as well as with SpeedSwitcher.

I have switched power management to "Always On" and I still have this trouble.

    Has anyone had this problem?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Sounds like Cool 'n Quiet is broken. Sometimes reinstalling the AMD processor driver (from the HP zv6000 or Compaq R4000 support page or from amd.com) will fix this.

MobileMeter is my favorite CPU monitoring program. CrystalCPUID can be used to manage clock speed and voltage instead of the standard CnQ driver, if you wish (that always works).
