Hi
I just upgraded the RAM in my laptop. I replaced one of the 512 ram sticks with 1 *1gb ram so now im running 1.5gb of Ram.
My understanding is that the new stick is 667 and the old stick is 533. Is it ok to run this set up?

It's fine to run the setup; the two RAM sticks will work fine together, so you're notebook isn't going to crash or anything (unless there's something wrong with the RAM, unlikely, though).
The only 'conflict' that you'll see is that the 512MB stick is slower than the 1GB stick, so the 1GB stick will be downclocked to 533MHz, instead of running at 667.
However, it shouldn't make that much of a difference in performance, unless you're doing some REALLY demanding work on the computer. -
Thx Jon-Michael

Also, since the SODIMMs are different sizes your notebook is using single-channel memory access instead of dual-channel. Ideally you'll want to get a second 1GB DDR2-667 SODIMM but it's not critical.
I recommend running MemTest86+ or some other memory test program to verify your new memory configuration, just be thorough. A half hour should do, overnight if you want to be really thorough. -

Brilliant - I was going to ask the same question so thanks!
