Ive posted this before (like months before) but never got an answer. Has ANYONE successfuly installed ddr2 667 ram into a v3000z and had it be stable? If you have please, please speak up and say what brand/model you got.
I've even tried the slower 533 ram with very mixed results (not 100% stable). If you've gotten 533 to work rock solid, again please let me know what brand/model you're using. Thanks
Dan

AFAIK no one has tried Crucial yet but that would be my best bet:

Expensive but not quite as much as they used to be. -
I have installed the following 1gb stick from crucial, CT576496
DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • UNBUFFERED • NON-ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V • 128Meg x 64

Works like a charm; I had ordered my notebook with the bare minimum 256mb so this upgrade has done wonders to my performance. Hope that helps. Its been stable as far as I can tell. I should let you know that I wiped my notebook of all the bloat and did a clean install of xp professional. -
Hi. I CTO'd a V3000Z AMD Sempron 3400+ with 256mbDDR2 memory. The installed stick was a Samsung DDR2-667 256mb stick. Before I received my laptop I was under the impression that it wouldn't run 667 properly so i bought a dual channel 1gb DDR2-533 setup off of ebay, brand - Hynix (hyundai). I popped it in and it runs like a charm. There are no stability issues like this.
However, I installed RM clock to undervolt my lappy and I think....that the Hynix memory isn't as good as other brands ONLY because I got instability when i changed my FID's (volts) lower than stock. I was hoping it would get good numbers like the Turions were getting but I guess not. This is only my guess though and I haven't done an extensive testing. For example, at 800mhz my stock FID was i think 0.950 and i dropped it to 0.875 while at 1800mhz stock it was 1.200 and i dropped it to 1.100. I was really hoping that it could go lower but I don't know if it's the design of the S1 socket semprons or if the memory is "not as good". -

It could just be your individual CPU. Some undervolt better than others. I doubt it's your memory. Memory voltage is set separately from CPU voltage. Dual channel DDR2-667 should definitely work... so long as you buy a compatible brand. My dv9000z series notebook came with a pair of DDR2-667 Nanya SODIMMs.
