Hi, I just purchased a new notebook at hpshopping.com after researching it a bit. It's a zv5000t, and in the specs, I customized it so I would have 512 MB of DDR RAM.

I recieved the notebook yesterday, and when I looked under the system tab in the Control Panel, it said that I had 346 MB of RAM.

    What happened?

    Should I call someone?

    Please help!

No, this is most likely correct. The reason why you have only 346MB of system ram is because the remaining memory has been allocated to video. The model you have utilizes an Integrated Video Conroller. These controllers do not have their own video memory, they share the main system memory. If you check the model of video controller on your system, it should indicate that it's an IPG controller made by ATI, NVidia or Intel. Unless this notebook has and you selected an option of getting a non-integrated video controller during config, everything is working fine and you shouldn't worry.
