    Hi All,

My HP dv2000 came with a single memory module of 512MB.

Is it ok if I were to add an additional module of 1GB?
    512MB x 1GB = 1.5GB

or does the capacity on both the modules need to be the same, that is 512 x 2 = 1GB

    TIA

That's absolutely fine. You don't need to pair similar size memory sticks together at all. You can add a 512 or a 1GB stick. You could even replace your current 512 stick with 2x1GB sticks. Your choice. Just make sure to get the right RAM for your unit.
