I ran benchmarking via SiSystem Sandra Lite on my HP DV2000T (see specs in my signature). Everything seemed within or exceeded the norm, except for RAM bandwith. My readings for RAM Bandwith Int/Float Buff'd were 3672/3692 MB/s and produced the following notice:
"Notice N5405 - System bandwidth appears to be FSB limited. Generally this means that FSB bandwidth is < 50% total memory interface bandwidth, thus memory bandwidth is wasted. Some systems use the additional bandwidth for built-in video (if applicable) if video memory is shared with system memory."
Could someone help interpret these readings and ascertain whether they are normal or not. (I could not locate the type of RAM, 4200 or 5300, I have under Computer hardware overview in Sandra Lite. Any tips on that?)
Also, I have a silly question about the hard drive size. It's supposed to be 100Gb, but both My Computer and Sandra Lite tell me it's 93gb (1gb for quickplay, 12gb for HP recovery and 80 gb for wider use). Is this typical?
Thanks

You can google Cpu-Z and that will tell you what you are using as for as Rams speed and type. It should be PC5300 ddr2 667 and for the 100GB hd from HP....yes, they divided the drive like that...

Wrt the HDD question, its 93 instead of the advertised capacity b/c of formatting. After setting up the NTFS file system for WinXP, you will have less space available for use. I have a 40GB advertised HDD with 37.5 actual space for use.

are you running 2 sticks of ram or 1 stick?

Thanks for the replies! CPU-Z says I have two sticks of PC2-5300. Does that help in interpreting my RAM bandwith readings above?
