    Hi,

I'm having a RAM issue with my v2424nr.
    I just installed 2x512MB sticks.
But it says I only have 640MB of RAM.
Does anybody have the same issue, or is this an isolated problem?

    thanks.

You should have 1x512 and 1x256 in order to get this figure (128mb go for the GPU). Maybe one of your sticks is just 256mb. Double check this.
If they are both 512mb, then try them one by one and see what the laptop says then

Yes I checked...one of the 512MB RAM sticks is defective...it is showing up as 256...it's strange, why would it do that?
    oh well.
