Yes, that's should works. For dv9000t (intel notebook) the maximum RAM can be up to 4GB. Which dv9000 do you have?

Is there anyway to get the dv9000 to recognize the 4th Gig of RAM?

I have 4Gb installed, but even with Vista x64, the O/S only "sees" 3 Gb of RAM.

Start > Type MSconfig > Boot tab > Set the max memory to 4gb > Apply > Restart notebook

I knew it would not be that easy. I tried it, and the counter will not go over the 3072 or whatever the digital limit is. I've heard it was a BIOS issue, but as to why it would be a BIOS issue when the hardware supports the 4Gb.

Only in the strange world of laptops................

Thanks for the tip, however! ;)

Hmm i suggest you download CPU-z and double check that you do have 2x2gb installed and that it is being recognised.

Do you have the latest BIOS installed or a very old one?

No, I have the latest BIOS. Its's the "t", and looking at the HP support site I see that the AMD 9000's have a newer BIOS than the Intel machine.

I have "Everest Untimate" installed, and it clearly sees the 4Gb of RAM. It's there, it just cannot be accessed. Go figure.

It's one of the reasons I bought my HDX 18! :D
