    I was wondering what type(speed) of ram dose HP/Compaq send out with your laptops?

    Compaq R3000T (CTO)
    P4 Desktop 3.0GHz w/HT
    1 X 512MB RAM
    Radeon 9600 128MB
    15.4 wide screen
    WXGA (1280 X 800)
    CD-RW,DVD+RW
    60GB 5,400 RPM HD
    Wireless b/g
    Windows XP Home
    12 Cell Battery

    HP hides this so you have to look at a retail stores detailed description to find out.

    they hide all the technical information about their computers...I called tech support to ask them questions simlar to this, they don't have the answer and told me they can't get it either.

    You can download a free version of SiSoft Sandra and do a test run, and you can get almost everything. Read the review of R3000Z on the front page to have some idea what the software does.

    just called them

    zx5000 and R3000T comes with PC2700 i.e. 333Mhz

    Not good since CPU runs at 800Mhz...and this slow ram will limit the available bandwidth ... which means gaming performance could have been much much better

    how fast is the 3200 ram?

    If I put another RAM stick in my open slot that is PC3200 will one be able to go faster? or will it have to slow down to whatever the speed of the slowest ram installed is?
