well you don't need any faster than 667mhz since that is as much as the system will handle and yes dual channel will work as it should be now with the 2 sticks you have now sicne they are of equal size. you can download CPU-Z to check and it will state if it's in dual channel.

and yes they are DDR2 and SODIMM which is what you need for laptops and for your model.

yes it should run on yours too

but you already have 2GB, why do you need that?

if its cuz of the 667mhz compared to 533 then it really won't make a noticeable difference

btw DDR2 SODIMM should be 240pin not 200

edit: might be wrong about the pin thing hehe

If your computer has 533Mhz FSB, then even if you stick in 667Mhz RAM, the RAM will still only run at 533Mhz because that's the maximum speed at which the the data can be sent.

For AMD systems my preference is for two Crucial 1GB DDR2-667 SODIMMs. HP AMD notebooks come with DDR2-667 (mine did at least). Yes, dual channel. Intel notebook use lots of expensive L2 cache to make up for their lack of an integrated memory controller and aren't as demanding about RAM.

So your saying that more memory and dual channel will help if you have an integrated memory for graphics? For games, movies, photoshop?

I had assumed that more memory would help everything the notebook does and why I got 2GB of memory.

It will help in general. At today's prices 2GB is a no-brainer. Dual channel and high memory bandwidth (DDR2-667 vs. slower) will help with integrated graphics, though don't expect miracles, probably just a marginal real-world improvement. More memory just makes the chunk of RAM that the integrated GPU carves out for itself a lot less painful.
