What is HP referring to when it labels some displays as a radiance type and others non-radiance? Is that an internal term for displaying over a certain threshold of the color gamut, while "infinity" would be a term for better viewing angles?
I see the Envy 14 has a radiance display while the Envy 17 is not, got curious, and couldn't figure out their naming scheme. Both are 300nits or higher and LED-backlit.
Thanks in advance.

Just marketing monkey-talk. Simply just two different screens. Radiancescreen has better colours, higher brightness, higher resolution, better viewing angles. Brightview screen is the bog standard screen.
Or Infinity might refer to the Radeon EyeInfinity feature (basically, the ability to attach multiple screens). -
infinity = edge to edge glass with no bezel, like a macbook pro screen
radiance = extra bright LED backlit, 350nit brightness, 82% Color Gamut, Wide Viewing Angle. HD+ (1600×900) Resolution. They don't have the manufacturing technology yet to make bigger screen sizes with radiance displays.
Brightview = normal display
Ultra BrightView = slightly upgraded display
