I done by search and I just purchased a dv6000t from ebay new. Bad thing it only has 1gb of ram. I want to purchase 2 1gig stick of ram so it will run vista better and i can use for media use. Can someone show me the right ram to buy i would hate to get the wrong type of ram.![]()

Well I assume it has 2x 512MB RAM sticks in it now,, so to upgrade to 2GB you will need to purchase 2x 1GB sticks.
go to Newegg.com
they have an amazing selection of memory for about as cheap as you will find it.
You will need 200-PIN DDR2 SDRAM PC-5300 (667MHz) Corsair is an excellent brand among others. -
Hey Airman, I would like to thank you. I didnt even notice the dv6000t and how good it looks until i seen your review.

I also have the same intension of upgrading my RAM to 2GB, but don't know what to pick among Corsair, Mushkin, G.Skill
-
Corsair was recommended ;D

I bought the corsair 2 x 1GB pack from newegg that Cory posted a link to about 3 months ago and I have had no problems.

I got a G-skill 1GB from new egg for $69.0. Runs flawlessly.
Buy the right one, not the expensive one. -
For almost all laptops, they brand of RAM doesn't matter if it is reliable enough to work because of the lack of overclocking ability. Get something that works and stick with it!
Ram.
