I was wondering if someone can give me a yes or a no...

i have a old dv8000z sitting around, AMD based, and my current dv6500t (INTEL)... my old dv8000 has a 512 MB RAM stick and a 1x256MB RAM while my dv6500t has a full 2x1GB of RAM. is it possible that i can pull both the ram sticks out of my dv6500t and put them into my dv8000z and have the dv8000z operate properly?

Nope. I believe the DV8000 used only the Turion processor, not the X2. Back then the Turion used plain old DDR. The DV6500T uses DDR-2. They are not interchangeable.

Well if you tell me what processor it uses, then I can tell you.

Right now I am 99.99% sure that I am correct.

He's correct. The dv8000z used DDR memory while the dv6500t uses DDR2 memory. The Turion ML or MT/Socket 754 Sempron series were only compatible with DDR memory.
