Today I BSoD'ed again and did yet ANOTHER system restore and it happened and within 15 minutes of the restore it happens yet again. I replaced the memory module that came with the computer and am absolutely sure that the RAM is not the cause. Any help?

    Have MemTest86+ verify your memory.

Overheating is a more likely cause. See what HWMonitor says your temps are. Get a notebook cooling pad, or prop up the back of the notebook a little and have a fan blow over/under the notebook. Your GPU is dumping quite a bit of heat into the chassis and if the CPU doesn't heat up enough to spin up the CPU fan the rest of the notebook starts getting toasty.

Give us more information. Such as:

-What programs are you running when it happens.

-If the laptop feels extremely hot when it happens.

-Did the Bluescreens start appearing shortly after you installed a new device or program?

The more details you can give us the better we will be able to help you out. Also, have you updated Windows lately? If not update Windows and see if maybe that helps.

Also, when you say you did a system restore, do you mean you used Windows' System Restore, or you used either the recovery partition or recovery cds that HP gave you to reinstall everything to the default factory state.

Thanks for all the replies. I am certain the HDD is not the problem-never tampered with it, overheating is outruled-My laptop stays very cool and the fans are never at full speed, RAM is fine as well.
If anyone else has any more suggestions please share.

I guess this might just be a vista thing...*sigh*

First of all is there any text like STOP 0x000000? (0x0000000?) if there is then their should minidump files, located at C drive then go to window then minidump. If you can upload the minidumps, I MAY BE able to track down exactly what driver is causing the problem assuming that it is a driver conflict.
