    hi,
i have a pavilion dv6560, came with a 160 GB HD and windows vista preinstalled. now there are two drives C of approx 141 GB and D with the recovery tool of 7.17 GB to be precise.

I learned that partition magic doesnt work on vista (havnt tried it though)

    and some friends recommended 'diskpart'.

now the trouble is, i didnt really know what to do when i opened 'diskpart'. :s

its a dos based program with multiple options.

i would highly appreciate if someone could tell me a way to divide the 'C' drive in atleast 2 drives. (141 GB is a hell of space wasted)

and i DONT want to format the drives

    Thanks in adv...

I would recommend GParted. Download the live CD and burn it to a disc. Then put it in your drive and boot from CD. It has a GUI and is pretty easy to use.

    http://gparted.sourceforge.net/

(As always backup any important data before (re)partitioning and it's a good idea to defragment you hard drive too.)
