The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

After an upgrade to SP2, my system went into a read only state. I removed SP2 and the system is still locked in read only. If one creates a new folder, it alows it, and it's contents are not read only :hp:

    Any Ideas?

Are you logging in as administrator? It's possible the system access rights may have been modified. Try logging back in as administrator and see if you can modify the settings back to normal.
