    Hi all,

Right now I have been rigged up for about 3 days by installing Windows 7 Home Premium onto the SSD as normal with an HP 2 disc set that was sent to me earlier for this laptop.

I'm fending off restarts with Shutdown Guard so I don't get locked out (because it's not exactly 160GB SSD and/or paired with a certain size secondary HDD).

Could I have it connected via USB 3.0 in a SATA to USB 3.0 base (from a Seagate Freeagent External Hard Drive) and have the OS boot from this rigged "external SSD"? Keeping the 2 stock 320GB HDDs in place to keep the BIOS happy?

This would probably be a temporary fix until I purchase all the components to a custom PC to avoid things like being locked out of upgrading your SSD !

The laptop is currently more of a desktop than a replacement, it's stationary 95% of the time and connected to a TV with wireless keyboard & mouse.

    Thanks
