I just received my new DV9500, but the frame says DV9000. The sticker on the bottom of the comp says, 9500. Do all 9500's use the DV9000 frame or is something up?

    Thanks

Yes, this is quite normal. The dv9500 is a sub model of the dv9000 series.

Yes, the frame will say the series #, not your exact model. HP can't make a different frame for every single model #.

For example, I have an aspire 5102, but the frame says aspire 5100

When I purchased mine I thought the same thing, but as miner and adinu say, it only displays the base model number on the lcd panel. It's the same with every laptop that HP sells.
