I just wanted to put my opinion out there that when i had a DV6000t, the battery life was terrible using the standard 6cell, and even with an enhanced 6cell. Using only WMP while writing up a paper and no wireless/bluetooth on, i was still only able to get about 2.5-2.75hrs.
Since then, I have returned the DV6000t for a DV2000t instead. Keeping my wirless and bluetooth on, screen brightness about 2 up from the lowest, I am able to hit 3hrs strong. When everything is on its lowest settings and wireless off, I have achieved nearly 3.5 hrs (probably closer to 3.4 hrs).
I have a T7200 2.0ghz C2D cpu, 1.5gb ram, 2gb Readyboost and 120gb HD (i forget if its 5400 or 7200...can anyone confirm? its straight from HP)
so if you're getting a dv6000t, my friend loves having the 12cell and the angle it gives the laptop when placed on a desk.
if youre getting a dv2000t, i hightly suggest the 6cell enhanced since im assuming you want some portability since you got a 14.1"![]()

if its straight from hp then most likely its 5400 rpm hd.
how does the battery life compare to the regular 6 cell? -
I also love my 12 cell and the angle provided when placed on a desk or anywhere as it provides a better typing position for me and provides a better opening for the air vent underneath.
-
Is the enhanced 6 cell bigger than the regular 6 cell?
-
the enhance 6cell and the 6 cell are the same physical size. i dont believe either are heavier, but if so, probably extremely marginal (i could probably check since i have both...)
battery life of a standard 6cell on a dv2000t was skimming 3hrs for me, but using the enhanced 6cell i have gained more than the 16% HP posted.
again, i depends what you are doing and your settings, but i dont exactly skimp on all the settings and still get close to/around 3.5hrs on an enhanced 6cell -
Given the biggest constant energy eater on laptops was and still remains the screen, I guess the results are understandable. Try to use your laptop with an external screen and lid shut - you will be amazed about battery life..
Hopefully new display technologies will help enhance our portable lifestyle. -
yup.
im actually hoping HP will come out with a higher capacity but less obtrusive battery for the dv series....i want 5hrs =D perhaps a 8cell? lol -
Wow... 3-3.5 Hours on a 6 cell battery? You must be running Windows XP and doing absolutely nothing else with your DV2000T. I can barely get 1.5 hours out of my standard 6 cell on Vista.
-
nope. im running windows vista ultimate, listening to music and using office12 (word) to write with...
-
is it possible to buy an enhanced 6 cell on its own...where from? (in uk)
-
I have to agree the 12 cell battery is great -
LED LCD screens will be the next evolution. These should cut down power usage substantially and improve battery life. Plan on replacing your laptop once these are out. I think Apple already announced all their laptops are going with LED backlights.

may i ask what the HP part number for this enhanced 6 cell battery is? bought my dv2000t last year and this battery wasn't available. the part number is on the battery when you take it out of the laptop. also could anyone tell me what the mAH or Wh value of the battery is. it should be on the right side. thanks a lot.
-
Can anybody else who owns this high capacity 6 cell tell me what kind of battery life that get with it please.
-
maddogg: even though its still me, i'll let you know now that battery life is somewhat increased with XP ( i down graded...down with vista). some people say otherwise but since school is out i do a lot more music listening and active web browsing (meaning wireless is on) and have seen it last longer
makes me very happy
-
Umm... can someone post the part number please? Thanks!
-
I get 3-3.2 hours on my dv6500t with enhanced 6-cell (x3100 and wireless on...does anyone actually turn wireless off?)
-
Yipee 200 post. -
"Replace with HP spare: 441611-001. Barcode #: 9i0741. 10.8V - 55Wh. STLP/N - NBP6A48A2"
"HP Part # 441243-361"
not sure why the original part # and the replacement sticker show different part #s.....
and sorry i took awhile, had to get some stuff out of the way -
-
damn. that blows. im sure you can purchase one if you call HP though. just makes sense that you can.
