Been trying to find a way to 'record what you hear' on my Envy 17 using the basic sound recorder program included with windows 7. I've got the stereo mix option under the recording tab in my sound devices. However even if I select it as my default recording device the volume meter doesn't show anything when I play a youtube video or mp3 from Windows media player. I've checked that nothing is muted too.

    I'm running Windows 7 64bit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    cheers
