    Recovery DVD

    Hi,

    How long does it take to create the recovery dvd's on a HP NX6325, its been on 69% (verifying) for about 40mins now.

    i didn't track the time it took for my to do it on my dv6375us, but i think it was probably about a hour maybe less all said and done. This was using a dual disc

    Same here +/- 1 hour for two recovery dvd's.

    Thanks for the replies...

    Think the drive is faulty... tried a different manufacturer of dvd+r and it bombed out at 66% with an error. Then tried sonic (supplied burning app) to burn 4 graphic files supplied with windows to a dvd+r that failed too (different manufacturer of disk). Tried that a couple of times...

    Just to confirm - can a dvd drive fail in such a way that it can read disks but not write?

    Yes it can. My friend's DVD writer in his desktop can read DVDs fine, but can't burn correctly to save it's life. (Which is why it's in the trash now)
