I have an HP m8100y, I already burned out the recovery disks and am wondering how many sets I can burn. Hopefully someone familiar with HP desktops can help. Thanks.

The software will restrict you to burn 1 set of discs. If you still have them and they are not damaged, the easiest thing to do is to make a copy of them. You will need to make an image copy of them, not just a file copy. You can use the free tool ISO Recorder to make an ISO image of the DVD, then use that ISO image to burn the copy to another DVD.

If you don't have the discs anymore, you can trick the software into burning them again. See this thread for details.

Just curious.. Why do you need more than 1 set of recovery disks?

Yeah, I'm not trying to sell this stuff. It's just that you can never be sure that the recovery disks work until you need them. So I figure I'd leave that partition alone just in case. It might be a desireable feature when I sell the computer too. Anyway, I didn't even use the recovery disks from HP because of the bloatware, I used one created from a Dell and it works great. But since it limited me to 1 back up, I'll just delete it. Thanks for all your help!
