    Recovery Problem due to 2 windows....

    Hi... I ve recently installed Win xp with windows vista in my compaq presario c769us and now the problem is that when i try to create recovery discs it tells me that no recovery partition hardisk found(however partition z thre)...ALSO it does not run recovery at startup when i try to do so...Plz help :confused:

    You may have overwritten the Recovery partition when you added XP.

    Go to My Computer and tell me what disks or partitions you see there.

    No i ve nt overwritten. My partitions r as under;
    C:--63.6GB free of 113 GB
    D:--2.03GB FREE OF 11.5GB(it z the recovery)
    F:--13.5GB FREE OF 19.5GB
    G:--80.0GB FREE OF 88.0GB

    Well, in that case you have to wait for someone else who is more knowledgeable in these types of situations.

    I hate to say this but you have should made your recovery disks before you install XP or any clean install of vista because the boot settings has changed meaning you cant boot of the recovery partition anymore. You probably have to buy the recovery disks from HP

    Just call in and tell them your serial number and that you need the recovery disks. I'm sure they'll send it to you free of charge.

    My friend didn't get the recovery disks and they sent it to him.
