Ok, first dv5t i ordered i made recovery disks from the HDD partition. I am sending it back for a refund and i ordered a new one. This new one, i ordered the software and OS recovery media, which seems like pretty much recovery disks. One cd pack comes with the software (same as SWsetup), and the other cd pack comes with 2 system recovery disks. Now, my new dv5t has a recovery partition that will still allow me to burn that one limited set of discs, but i'm wondering if i still need to burn it again, since i already have 1 set from HP and another set i manually burned from the old dv5t.
2 Questions:
- Do I need to burn new recovery disks? and how do I get rid of the harddrive recovery partition to allow more harddrive space?
- And, should I system recover the dv5t i'm returning? or what else should I do?

I'm surprised you didn't get any answers.
1) Since you're recieving recovery discs from HP, I wouldn't bother burning new ones.
2) You could do a system recover before sending it back if you don't want any personal information disclosed, but they'll just reformat and reimage it anyway before reselling it (if they do, I know Dell has an outlet). -
how do you burn recovery discs from the backup image on the partition?

Look for recovery manager or recovery disc creation. It's usually in start -> all programs -> recovery manager -> recovery manager or recovery disc creation. Go from there.

Wow i just used the recovery discs from HP on my old laptop and the laptop died. When I turn it on all the lights light up, like quickplay and scroll lock and caps lock, but nothing else is on in the laptop.
