I had an issue with my nc8510P recently when the crss.exe file starting making my laptop run at 100% CPU. so I decided to redo my laptop using the recovery discs. I have done this about 4 times on my nc84030. It takes me about 1.5 hours to do it with the nc84030.

Now my 8510p has been doing this for about 4-5 hours. This is the slowest recovery I have encountered. Any thoughts?

Perhaps doing a clean install would suit you better?

This happens to me too. When I use the recovery disc it takes almost 3 hours for it to complete. But when I do a clean install it takes less than an hour. I guess its because with the recovery discs, its installing everything that came with it when you bought it. A clean install is just installing windows and a couple of drivers.
