Hey guys...I wanted to know if the recovery partition is needed after i create backup dvds??...Like, i create the DVDs, test em once, n if it works, then mayb a 2nd or 3rd set of thos dvds (fail safe ;) ) , then can i delete the recovery partition and then expand another drive??....any issues when i give it to service center??

Also can you tell me how much size should i allocate to c: drive for vista...30gb good enough??

    Thnx guys

once you create the dvd's you really don't need that recovery partition because what was on the recovery partition is on on the dvd's. i think it was only 10 gigs. if you don't need the space just leave it. once you decide you don't want it remove it with hp's recovery software i know theres an option and it will put all the space back to the c drive.

now why is everyone hating on the recovery partition??? beisdes the fact that when you really need it to work most...you cant f11 into it..lol

but when it does work...complete restore in half or better than half with dvd....

just curious is all. and you can replace thier recovery partition with your own....minus bloat ware.

Once you do the clean install the recovery drive is useless because the MBR (master boot record) gets wiped too
