    Hey Guys!
I would like to congratulate the guy who made the thread for the "how to" process of "clean installation".

...but I've got a small issue which im pretty sure someone know's the anwser.
My issue is that the Volume Light Color on my dv6500..... doesnt turn RED when I press on it to mute the Pc... I also lost the "Click Sound" when turn up/down the volume threw the hp buttons on the top.

I've installed Quickplay 3.2 and all... I know its a really small detail but if anybody know's the awnser, could you please share it to resolve this issue.

    Thanks for your help all!!!

    Try updating your audio drivers.

The red or amber mute button is not controlled by quickplay or Quicklaunch button drivers. It is actually controlled by the Conextant Audio drivers. I figured this out when i did a clean install recently while testing i get full functionality back. The audio drivers was the first one i installed since it is pretty much the first folder in the SWSetup folder and tested the sound/buttons straight away.

Install you native audio drivers and it should work. If not try installing quickplay or quicklaunch buttons again just incase theres a relation to their functionality

thx flipfire, its partially solved my problem!!!
It did re-enable the "red light" on mute... but I dont have the Sound "Click" when I press on the up/down volume keys of the QuickPlay buttons!

BTW: After a Fresh Clean Installation... am I suppose to reinstall the whole "Intel Matrix storage sutff".... since I dont see them in my programs....

well.... if there are any other programs that are a "Must Reinstall"... could somebody tell me!?

hmm try going to your BIOS and go to the sound click settings and disabling/enabling it again. Updating the drivers might work too.

Im not sure about the Intel matrix stuff.. Intel devices usually install/manage itself. There are no programs you need to install unless you need it. Its only drivers for the devices that you use are needed.
