I recently started playing world of warcraft again and i personally dont like to sit at a desk when on my laptop so i mainly use the touch pad all the time on the laptop. Well i started to notice that the touchpad heated up over time and at first i thought it was the ram due to it being directly under the touch pad but in fact the closer south bridge was to blame. So to reduce my heat i simply took a broken nvida pny 5200 ultra and removed the heatsinks from the bottom of it. I was suprised when they were the perfect size to fit where i wanted them to go. Im pretty sure i have dropped the temperature on the south bridge a good bit and the touch pad dosent get nearly as hot as it used too. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] The heatsink on the bottom of the door aligns with the one on the south bridge to dissipate the heat out of the bottom of the laptop vs though the touch pad.

How are the heatsinks actually held on? Cpu paste or some other method?
