I accidentally formatted my laptop when upgrading from Vista Home Basic to Vista Ultimate. Now i cannot hit F11 to do the system restore on startup and when I do to the D drive none of the restore files are there even though it shows that the D drive's space is being used up. My question is, do I really need to have the system restore files for my laptop or can I just use the laptop as is, with the Vista Ultimate? Basically I have the laptop set up so it is like a whole different laptop then when I purchased it. I did however like the HP Total Advisor program that came with the laptop. One of the HP reps said that the restore software is probably corrupt and I would need the actual restore disk to reinstall it since I did not make my own restore disc. Do i really need this? Thanks
