I've had my hp laptop for almost a year (the warranty expires in July), and it's been nothing but trouble. The keys keep breaking off, the battery overheats every five minutes, the power connector never fits correctly.

Anyway, I've gritted my teeth through all of these problems and only sent it in for repair once. The problems were gone for a while, but they've come back, and I'm tired of dealing with it.

My question is, is it possible to return the laptop (it's still under warranty), and get a refund of some sort? It's a zv5000t (now out of production), and I bought it from hpshopping.com.

I've looked around and cannot find a straightforward answer anywhere.

I had major problems with my old Compaq 1525us after I returned it three times I was able to get a supervisor to replace it. They won't refund the money. You did however make a mistake by not sending it in sooner. Send it in now and the day after you get it back, if there are any issues, send it in again and again and again. You should be able to send it in once a week if necessary.

I dont think they will give a refund if the laptop has been sent in for repairs only once. They generally consider replacement if the laptop has been repaired more than 3-4 times in quick sucssesion. So keep on sending it in and make sure you get your point across to the right people on how unhappy you have been about the performance of the laptop.

    Good Luck!

Thanks for your prompt, helpful replies.

What happens if I don't want a replacement? They won't give me any kind of credit or anything?
