so im probably going to go ahead and order a dv2000t tomorrow but my questions are since i will most likely buy a 5400RPM Hitachi Travelstar for about same price as HP wants for 100gb hdd, i know since i have a new hdd i wont have quickplay and anything like that on it, how would i go about adding that feature to the new HDD?

You can burn off the recovery discs which will restore your notebook to it's original factory condiditon. If you are planning on doing a fresh install, Quickplay can be downloaded on HP's website.

im not totally sure of quickplay and if id even use it ok quickplay allows me to listen to music/movies without booting into windows so quicker i understand but does it save that much more battery life or just the amount that it takes to boot into windows everytime? Also if i got a new hdd and didnt install it could i still use the quickplay features when loaded into windows?

I installed my drivers disc and it automatically installed Quickplay with it.

Quickplay can be re-installed by using the recovery disc that you woul burn. These things will bring you back to factory state from any state.
I have never been able to get Quickplay to work with my re-installation. On the V3000z I couldnt even install QP directplay and got error messages. With the dv2000t OTOH, QPDP installed but when I restarted and tried to run QP, it gave message stating QP wasnt properly installed. I just gave up on trying to reinstall Windows and used the recovery discs and got QP back. If you do not need the instant on feature then you can try your luck with a clean reinstall as some people have been able to get it working or QP will work just fine in Windows, so its not too big of an issue depending on how useful QP is for you. -
well i dont care about that honestly i mean any media player will have the same functions and my keyboard atm has em on my desktop but i never use them,
Reinstall Quickplay Feature
