I couldn’t find this in a quick search of the web, so I’m hoping that someone here might able to help me. I found a great deal for the DV6T Quad $925ish via student discount. And I’m actually thinking about getting one.

I’m a little apprehensive about getting one though as I’ve had 3 HP’s die on me or have some type of on slot of issues after a year; However, I have not purchased an HP in over 3 years. Has their quality improved? Also how is the build quality of the Dv6t? Anyone know of a good in-depth review of the dv6t Quad? The system is almost 400 bucks cheaper then a similar Asus model which is what makes it so appealing to me.

I’ve seen reports on the net that state 1 in 4 HP’s fail within 3 years… from my experience it would seem to hold true, but the report failed to account for a good sample size and thus the data is irrelevant when applied to the populous as a whole.

I’ve been working with computers for the better part of 10 years and build all my desktops… laptops I leave to the big guys. I’m looking for a multimedia laptop and HP seems to have the best offerings (price wise), next to Asus, Dell, and Gateway.

As for me, I'll stay clear from HP and nvidia products from now on.
