My intention is to buy a (new) HP Pavilion G7 1091ED. It comes with pre loaded MSOffice 2010 software. In addition you can buy an activation key. But that's not what I want. I have a legal version of MSOffice 2003 and have no need to migrate to MSOffice 2010. Can I remove the pre loaded MSOffice 2010 and install MSOffice 2003 without damaging my computer and loosing my HP-support? I've tried to reach the official Helpdesk from HP but you cannot communicate with them if you don't have an HP passport (not yet).

Use the Minimized System Image recovery option (see the removing bloatware thread in this forum) then install Office 2003.

I did this successfully with Office 2007.

You should be able to uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs and then just install your 2003. I did the same back in January on a Lenovo except that I installed Office XP, which, if I recall correctly is even older than 2003.

Yep. I actually did what you plan to do except I installed Office 2007 on my Dv6. Really easy to do - just uninstall through the CP then install office as jimbob said.

I'd recommend the MSI over removing the Office trial. You would have to remove all of the other bloatware as well, one application at a time. It's cleaner and faster to simply use the recovery software to your advantage.
