    Removing HP Wave Startup Wallpaper

    Before my own wallpaper is displayed...there is the HP wave background. Can it be removed somehow?

    It just does that at startup, don't see the problem with it. All it does is just take a few seconds to load.

    You can use TweakUI to change it.

    Change your wallpaper to NONE first, then apply your wallpaper. See if that helps...

    I guess it's not really a big deal, just thought there was a quick fix for it. And why does it only sometimes show and sometimes not?

    There should be a registry entry which enables this startup wallpaper. I have removed it in the past, but unfortunately I cant remember exactly which key it was in the registry. Try searching through the regisrty for wallpaper or startup wallpaper.

    Another thing to try would be to rename your current wallpaper the same name as the HP wallpaper. Place this file(bmp) in the Windows folder replacing the original file. This should make the computer use your wallpaper at startup instead of the HP default wallpaper.
