Anyone here try anything to remove Lance's signature from their laptops? I like the machine I got, and what it supports, but don't need Lance's autograph. I also can't say why it's bugging me, as it is not as WHITE as the photos make it seem.

However, I've been toying with a few ideas to get rid of it (I like the "I live strong" part). I could tape the area off with painters tape, and then see if something like goo gone or nail polish remove would remove his sig...

    HOWEVER

I also wonder if these chemicals would do anything to the nice matte finish of my new machine.

I may, in the end, wind up just getting a sticker for there, and covering the sig up. With ATI, AMD, Windows, and the lightscribe sticker, what's one more? (Unless I get a sticker that covers them all - and then I'll remove the ones that are there.

But I thought it might look slick without the sig, and just the nice blackness of the machine.

Anyone else feeling the way I am? Anyone try anything like above to remove marks from your machines? :)

Someone else mentioned using a plastic-safe acetone.

Let me know how that works!

I dont mind the signature its the bright yellow LiveStrong part that bugs me.

I plan on painting over the yellow to a nice gloss black or something becuase I dont mind the message I just dont like the color. :)

You could always test the cleaning solution by putting a tiny little bit somewhere thats not noticable and seeing if it softens the plastic.

OR you might call HP and ask then what the plastic is and then find out what would work from the plastics manufacturer.

my guess is it will wear off. like all the painted parts on my zv5000. yeah good idea to put painted black speaker grilles all the way into the palm rest, and lets add a silver trim that gets rubbed off.
