Hi. I have a new HP notebook (dv5-1080el - I bought it in Italy, that's where I'm living) with the integrated bluetooth module. In my first two weeks, the bluetooth would work perfectly, i.e., I could connect my Nokia phone to the computer trough it.

After that, tough, the Bluetooth just stopped working. I've tryed to update the Bluetooth software provided on the HP website but, when trying to install it, it said that there's no Bluetooth devide connected to the computer! Neither appears on the devide manager.

I went to the HP website and apparently there's a video showing how to remove and replace the bluetooth module (what made me think this is a common problem). The only problem is that the video shows how to remove on previous notebooks, not on mine. There it shows that you simply remove the battery and there it is, just unplug it and plug it back ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...=en&cc=us&product=3770531&rule=12786&lang=en). But mine is different when I remove the battery.

So, my question: does anyone ever had the same sort of problem?
Does anyone know how to reach the bluetooth module on the new dv5 series notebook?

For me it seems that it simply disconnected.

    Appreciate your help.

I s yours the one where you have to remove the panel above the keyboard? I have a R3000 series which I believe is compatible and my BT is under there. Try this link. Hope this helps.

If anyone knows an alternate to this video..
    Thanks again.
