Woo hoo! Finally got my dv9000 this morning. I was curious if there is thread or instructions on removing the bloatware? I can take an attempt at it but I'd be afraid that I'd leave remnants of it behind in the registry or elsewhere and I'm not really familiar with registry modification.

Is it just a matter of removing via the control panel? Are the links for Vonage etc on the desktop just URL shortcuts? Thanks.

    Steps:

    1. Remove programs from the control panel.
    2. Double check "Program Files" that all the folders have been removed.
    3. Download "CCleaner" which will remove the registry additions from the programs. Step 3 is required because with too much bloatware it will slow down your system.

Cool thank you! Also, should I bother keeping any of the HP applications? So far, the only one I see that may be worthwhile is the HP Total Care Advisor.

No, you can safely remove all of the HP stuff. I did, as i simply didn't want all of that crap starting up with windows.

Thanks! So far I'm loving this thing. I'm tweaking it while doing work (since I got it delivered to work). It seems very quick so far. Can't wait to truly use it at home :).

Fortunately, I haven't heard the high pitched noise yet, but I noticed it has the f14 version of the bios, so that may have something to do with it. So far so good.
