Hi does anyone know any stuff that will remove light scratches on the lid of a dv6000 lid? I'm a bit wary as it obviously as a coated surface

Scratches? As in deep physical scratches? There are silicone fillers that may be used...

not deep, just noticeable. It's the normal shiny surface on these HP laptops.

try radtech's ice creme; i use it on my ibook G4 and mac book (avoiding that bastard auto-linker) and it makes them look brand new again, and scratch free.

that said, i wouldnt mind finding out about products that will remove the couple larger scratches on my dell X300 ultraportable... :)

i thought I was the only one who used armorAll on thier laptop. If you do it once you first get it your laptop will look like new for a long time

Go buy a plastic polish. Many auto parts stores will stock it.

Plexus - It's worth it's weight in gold! You can buy online, motorcycle stores, some auto part stores. It's great for ANYTHING plastic, including laptops and screens.

Doesn't that make your notebook greasy to the touch?

Nope, if you remove the excess and wipe it with a clean cloth after it gets rid of that greasy feeling.

In that case, I might just consider applying some if I choose to purchase the HP dv6565ca.

I don't use Armor All on my cars but I use a Simoniz cleaner... it revitalizes plastics, rubber, etc. and protects and shines. I guess it does the same thing as Armor All.

wow, just thought id head back to this thread

i went to supercheap auto and bought a bottle of mother's plastic polish - cost about $18AU and its about 250ml

this has removed all the light scratches from my presario v3000 (non imprint finish) and made it shine exactly like an imprint model...

...also shined up my ibook G4 really nicely but couldnt get rid of the scratches and marks already there, unfortunately.

Another vote for an actual plastic polish.
