I posted a short time ago about the second hard drive turning on and off, sometimes 5 or 6 times a minute. It is driving me mad. As recommended, I tried turned the indexing off, but it still occurs. I would happlily take out the second drive to solve this problem. Is there a safe protocol for doing this? Any advice would be appreciated.

It should be quite easy to remove, only a couple of screws.

Check your service manual from www.hp.com

    What brand HD is it?

It's a Toshiba 160mb. I have no problems with the hardware side of things. I was more concerned about what will happen software wise once I restart.

If you only have your stuff (movies, music, documents etc.) then thats fine.

Aslong as you have no System/OS files in it
