I tried to remove it (read online that it's screwless), but before I read that it wasn't and that you needed to remove the Footpads to get to it. What's the verdict, how foreful should I have to be?

The whole bottom? Or the actual panel on the bottom?

Take out the battery and push the switch in the other direction and remove it from there (you might need to use a little bit of force to get it on/off). No need to remove anything else.

But before you do that i must warn you. It is a massive PITA to put back in.

After removing mine so many times it now no longer snaps in properly like of used to. There is some flex when you push on it so be careful.

Thanks.
I will try to be careful. But what's the issue with yours now, does it stay put?
