I have a DV9700 laptop and one of the keys broke on the keyboard...the "plastic retention bracket" along with the key itself broke.

How easy is it to repair? Should I order a new keyboard from HP and then install it myself? How complicated will it be? Will GeekSquad do it? I need it repaired fast.

Its best you buy a new keyboard, it only costs about $20. Takes about 5mins to replace.

Its very easy to replace aslong as you follow instructions. It wont even void your warranty.

I've replaced my keyboard several times (long story). It's not hard, just go slow and never force anything. In my humble opinion, you should remove the old keyboard and look for the part number (mine was labeled Quanta P/N) before ordering a replacement.
HP's website has videos on replacing keyboards. Go to the link below and put in your model. If it's not there, watch the one for HP Pavilion Notebooks> HP Pavilion DV9000 Entertainment> FRU Replace Remove> Keyboard
