I have bought this HP DV6-7026tx last November. When gaming it goes to unbelievably high temps. I once hit 105C and that really scared me, didn't want to damage my new laptop. I hear there are many people who are repasting their cpus and gpu, as well as cutting a plastic bit off near the front heatsink that doesn't blow air. I am wondering if there are any complete tutorials like this on how to do it and what to buy and if I should attempt this because I am willing to learn, but I am still a novice in computer modding and stuff.

Thank you for your help everyone :)

    Thanks for your reply. :)

I do have a cooler. It's a CoolerMaster NotePal W1 (3 Fans) which I bought a few years ago. It lowers a couple degrees. I have thought of repasting but I wanted to use a step-by-step guide which can guide me. I will also try to cut the plastic thing beside the heatsink when I get to repasting the cpu and gpu. I just want some information first.

    Thanks again.

Yah I should blow out yur fan with compressed air

Yur not gonna find a how to guide on your specific laptop unless your lucky. All yur gonna get is a few degrees out of new thermal paste anyways. I wouldnt risk it. Id play with your power options and make sure vents arent clogged with dust
