Has anyone done this (successfully)? I know where to buy a radiance display but are the connectors different and is taking off the panel hard? etc.

    The connectors are different.

(well, they're the same. only the cable is too short and doesn't hook up enough pins to the mobo.)

If you tried it then you'd see every other vertical line being displayed on the radiance, e.g working-white-working-white etc.

But that's only if you're buying the panel loose. If you're buying the entire display assembly, then there will be no issues.

Yes I second that. Make sure you get the whole assembly.

As pertaining to the "taking off the panel" part, it depends on how skillful you are at disassembling and reassembling your E14. I recently did it to re-paste my CPU and GPU with IC Diamond, and it was a breeze. Just make sure you:

-PUT THE SCREWS BACK IN THEIR ORIG. PLACES.

    -BE PATIENT, VERY, VERY PATIENT.

    Good luck~

Is it possible to replace the brightview screen with a radiance screen at all? I have just the screen, am I completely wasting my time?

If all you have is the screen, yes. Look at the post two above yours.

I did read that but it made it sound that if I was able to purchase a longer cord from hp, and or make/modify the existing cord that it should work, that it was just the issue of length, I'm trying to find out if that is the only problem with the replacement

No, that would be incredibly hard and HP does not supply the longer cord.

It's also physically incompatible with the BV assembly.

I know this because I spent 120$ only to run into these problems.

Could you please explain in a little more detail, I found the cord that is for the radiance display so assuming the cord is no longer a problem what kind of physical problems would i run in to?

    Different mount points.

The BV has its controller PCB on the back of the display.

The Radiance has its controller PCB sticking out, so you have to take out some of the molded plastic supports.

You found the radiance cord? Could you tell me where you got it?
