    Hi folks,

I have 1st gen Envy 17, but my motherboard is dead. In the local service center said it is completely fried. I don't know how, but everything else is fine. I've checked all parts on a different notebook.

So my question is... If I order the HM67 motherboard (new one) is it going to fit and work in my Envy? I know that I need Sandy Bridge processor, but do I need anything else? The reason doing this is to have switchable graphics :eek2:

Aren't you still under warranty? The Envys come with a 2 year warranty, no?

I know the chipset is HM67, but I didn't know the motherboard was branded as such as well.

Buying motherboards for laptops generally isn't cost-effective. I don't even know how feasible it is.

My mistake about the motherboard, HM67 is the chipset. Does it mean that the board with hm67 is physically the same as the one with hm55???
