    Hello.
I have HP DV6880ej Notebook with T9300 Intel Processor (2.5Ghz 6L2 Cache) and 3072 RAM. I'm going to upgrade the RAM to 4096.

The laptop has the Geforce Not integrated 8400 GS.

The question is, is there any way to replace this Card? To my best understanding, the card has some sort of MXM standard, so it can be replaced?

And if so, where can I buy thnew one without buying a new notebook?

    Thanks to all helpers,
    Shay.

Are you sure the video isn't onboard?

Here is a link from HP for parts that can be replaced.

HP does not use a separate card. It is built right into the motherboard, and cannot be replaced.

Gateway P-7811FX, best bang for the buck if you're only concerned about gaming. It's about $1300, 17" and has a 9800 gts.

Thanks for your answer anothergeek, but to me 17" is too big. I actually need the laptop for Gaming and Developing, so I need some 15.4". Games I play at home with my 22" LG monitor. Problem is my computer have Geforce 8400GS like you saw, which is crap for games.

    thanks anyway.

    Regards,
    Shay.

I love my dv5t. I play Fallout 3 and Far Cry 2 on high settings. It looks great. Just wait for a good coupon to come out. I got my laptop for 900 dollars after taxes. Make sure you do a clean install too! My ram usage went from 40 percent to 20!!!

    Thanks Justin_yr.

My biggest problem is that I live outside of the US, so I need to calculate shipping and taxes in my country also (I live in Israel). Granted, the price will be less than in my country, even after taxes. The prices here are insane, so if you think about complaining on the pricing in the US - Don't. For exmaple:
MSI 1651(GX620) with the following configuration costs 1579$:

    Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 2.2GHz
    "15.4 1400X900 res.
2048MB DDRII 800MHz (without mantion of the company)
    320GB SATA 5400 RPM
    USB 2.0 X2 ,VGA ,Audio,eSATA,Firewire
    nVIDIA GeForce 9600GT 512MB DDR3
and all this without Operating system, which you need to add 90$ for Vista home premium, and without the bundle of the GX620.

As this is a store which got exclusivity on selling MSI notebooks, and this is the only computer they bring, and they didn't even saying it's the MSI 1651, they are calling it GX620, like it's the MSI Pre-Configured laptop. And they didn't admit it and the only way I knoe is because I always check the companies sites in order to know excatly what to buy.

    ok, sorry for my rant.
Anyway, thanks for your suggestion Justin_yr, I'll look into it.

Sorry for the possible stupid question, but as I'm new here, can you tell me where to post it?

    Thanks,
    Shay.
