So, I have a HP dv6z-1000 that I want to install a backlit keyboard onto. I have looked into it and I cannot find one that is backlit and will fit my laptop. It is a 14" keyboard and there are images of the keyboard area in the service manual below:

So based on the image of the keyboard connectors, there are other connections that could be made, that I think would be fine for a backlit keyboard.

If any1 knows a site that has done this before or can show me links to a replacement keyboard that would fit, that would be great.

The problem is that the notebook has to be engineered to provide power to the keyboard backlight. You can't just add a backlit keyboard from, say, Dell that happens to fit in the notebook (not that there is a keyboard that fits anyway). Since all these notebooks are custom designed you can't just get any random part and expect it to fit.

Either HP sells the notebook with the option of a backlit keyboard (thus implying you can buy an HP-sourced keyboard), or they don't sell the option of a backlit keyboard and there's nothing you can do.

If you use the laptop on the desk a lot and are willing to go with an external keyboard, Logitech makes some pretty nice illuminated keyboards.
