My friends screen on his HP laptop, 14 inch DV2000 I think, got cracked. Someone stepped on it at a party or something.

I was wondering if it was possible to replace. I'm know they offer replacements because when he called HP, with his warranty being expired they said they could do, but it would cost $700 bucks. So forget that.

I have replaced a laptop screen before, but it was a few years ago, on a large Dell laptop. I would think newer ones would be harder to replace or not possible since they are much smaller and specialized.

So if anyone could let me know if it is possible or where to get a replacement, and how much, I would appreciate it.

Obviously it's possible to replace the LCD, but check Ebay, there's usually laptop parts floating around.
