I have been a happy V2000 owner for over a year. I am so happy that my left touchpad button is wearing out. Specifically, the rubber on the button is wearing out. It is obvious that if I could get a replacement rubber grip, I could simply peel off the old one and replace it. Does anyone know how new rubber touchpad grips can be obtained (either via Compaq or some other company)?

    Thanks,

    Z

In HP's Maintenance manual, those buttons do not have a part number (not very surprizing) but the upper part of the case has. You may try hp's part finder to find out the price. The manual is on HP's support page.
Or you can simply adopt something else...I believe I have a shaving kit that has a bag made of a very similar matterial :)
