I am thinking about getting the new HP Envy 17-3200. I really don't like that black back lid is there anyway to replace it with something silver/grey, maybe metal, or I guess even more Macbook Pro looking?

Perhaps a skin might do the trick. Otherwise, you'd have to make a custom lid.

Though, not sure who makes a custom skin for it. Might have to Google about to find one.

I did, I found a few, but I didn't seem to find one specifically for the Envy. I am considering on getting that faux stainless steel (I forget the proper name here) giant sticker, decal, not sure what it is called, for appliances and hope I can pass it off as looking like Aluminium. I wonder if there are also faux Aluminium ones as well? I wish there was a larger market for this stuff. :)

I had a carbon-fibre look skin for a notebook I used to own. I bought it off ebay. Though, it was custom cut to precise measurements for the notebook model.

You may want to check on ebay. There's a fairly decent range of sizes, materials, and designs. You might be able to get one that is close enough in size and do the custom cutting yourself using a straight edge and Exacto knife. Use the search term, "laptop skin" or "notebook skin." You should encounter a dizzying array of skins and vendors.

But I agree, there should be a larger market for these. But I guess people don't know too much about them. It's a great way to customize a notebook without doing any physical modifications to the notebook.
