So I have a DV7TSE 4000 series laptop that is almost a year old. It has one spot that is like a dead pixel (it looks more like a smudge than a pixel that is always off/on) and recently it developed a dark spot, which I think is from my cat walking on top of the closed laptop. Neither of these are noticeable enough to make the laptop unusable, but they bothered me enough to look around at replacement screens. So now I am wondering, can I replace my screen with an ENVY 1080p screen? Seeing as the first gen ENVYs and my generation of Pavilions are very similar internally, I don't see why this should not work, provided HP didn't make them incompatible on purpose. If anyone has any experience doing this, or can point me to someone who does, it would be greatly appreciated.
